More Schools Offering Online Degree Programs!

Adults who work for employers that offer tuition benefits might consider advancing their credentials with degree online programs. Online college offerings allow students to more easily continue work and family responsibilities without interruption, and employers are these days are said to look more favorably upon online degrees.

Online degree programs allow students to pretty much set their own schedules, participating in studies between family and work responsibilities and from wherever they have a computer with an Internet connection. Participating in distance college studies can reportedly also enhance technology skills that are growing more important in this information age. If you are interested in getting more information about accredited online universities research the internet.

Online college enrollment has reportedly been rising substantially, the number and variety of degree programs are growing fast, and employers these days more greatly appreciate online degrees. The results of a Society for Human Resources Management study released in 2009 cited that employers view online degrees from accredited institutions more favorably than they did five years prior. And the majority of these employers reported that they extend the same tuition reimbursement for online college classes as they do classes at bricks and mortar institutions.

The opportunity for training has been becoming one of the most desirable benefits a job can offer, according to information cited in a "32 Trends Affecting Distance Learning" report. Earning an online degree is likely to help boost an individual’s marketability and future earnings, and working toward one could potentially demonstrate motivation and drive, enhance job security and lead to a promotion. Search the internet for more information about life experience degree.

Yet, few who have access to this benefit take advantage of it, according to the human resources study. And the Wall Street Journal in an April article entitled, "Some Job Benefits You May Never Get Back", reported that the number of companies offering tuition assistance is declining across the board and particularly at the graduate level.

Still other companies are requiring continued education as a means of keeping employees current. Google is one of several organizations that are sending employees with master’s degrees to an executive doctorate in business program in Georgia that might help them solve complicated business problems, according to an April report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The internet has an abundance of information about  distance learning degrees when you need it.

Continued education might also be a smart move in a tight and competitive job market. With increased government incentives to continue education, many of the unemployed are reportedly investing the time in online college pursuits. In some instances, these students are working toward career shifts to areas such as healthcare, where opportunities exist to fill a need. Online degrees in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects also offer a chance to enter fields such as nanotechnology and the environment, where industries are said to have a demand for qualified employees.

An out of work Indiana factory worker invested her unemployment time in online programs and, having since landed a new job with her degree, expects to apply the company’s tuition reimbursement toward her further efforts, according to an April article in Lafayette, Indiana’s Journal & Courier. The new company that hired her, she told the Journal & Courier reporter, tends to hire from within.
