Can you add more than the manufacturer specified maximum 2GB ram to a Sony Vaio VGC-LS25E?
Sony says that the Vaio VGC-LS25E can have a maximum 2GB ram. What would happen if I installed 4GB ram? Would it work? Does the 2GB limit just mean it is not tested with more than 2GB, or does it mean the PC will not boot or recognize more than 2GB?
I ask because I have an older Sony VGC-V617G that Sony says can only support 1GB but I installed 2GB and it has been working great with it for over a year. Vista sees it and it is way faster than when it had only 1GB.
It means exactly what the manufacturer say 2 gig. If the data line is not there it is not there
